Nightshade Covers: On the left is the cover we all know and love of the hardback book, on the right is the new cover that will be on the paperback version of nightshade. My thoughts on this...I LOVE the new cover, I'm not sure if I love it more then the original, but still its a beautiful cover. I love the model they used (or if its the same model then i love the new angel of her face) she is so beautiful and looks much more like Calla than the first nightshade cover does or at least in my head. On the first nightshade cover i had a hard time picturing Calla as the girl on the cover, mainly cause on the cover she has alot of makeup on..but throughout the book Calla doesn't really ever wear that much makeup! That girl on the first cover has mascara, blush, eye shadow, even LIPSTICK! The new cover is EXACTLY how i pictured Calla, NATURALLY beautiful and just has a little mascara on. Alot of people are saying they hate this new cover and it looks unprofessianal? I have to dis agree its GREAT!(: but the new Wolfsbane cover is a WHOLE nother story.....
On the Left is the original Wolfsbane cover, and on the right is the new one that's going to be on the hardback when it comes out on July 26th 2011...I honestly am REALLY disappointed about this one...that new cover has nothing special about it except the fact that "wow that girls hair is so long" and that's literally the only thing cool about that cover (and the moon)! I think they should do what they did with Nightshade, come out with the more colorful cover as the hard back then come out with this crappy cover for the paper back. I am hoping the rumors are not true and that, that new cover isn't going to be on the hardback when it comes out

I'm actually pissed at penguin for doing this. The should have the new covers just as the paperbacks and keep the beautiful covers as the hardbacls. The beautiful covers appeal to the target audience and get them to read them. Honestly if the new covers were the original covers I probaly wouldn't have read Nightshade.
This bothers me a lot more than others b/c I'm a graphic designer and as a graphic designer the new covers look like a piece of shit compare to the orginals.
I can totally understand the frustration,I somewhat like the Nightshade cover, but not more then the original. And yes they are deffiently not very professional looking, another thing is that these new covers, they look like Adult PNR covers. Which is not good since these are in the young adult section, a lot of parents because of these new covers might not want to buy these books for there children.
The main thing that angers me is the new Wolfsbane cover, I mean honestly...WHAT IT THAT?!
