So this ^ is my boyfriend Jimmy, and he thinks I cannot find a book he would enjoy...so of course I have taken his challenge. I told him within the next year I will find a book he enjoys.
SO with that said I was wondering who has some recommendations ??
I think he would enjoy something like The Hunger Games, but I think it needs to be in a guys point of view, not a girls.
If you recommend a book, and I think he will like it and I get it for him and he DOES like it I will send you any book of your choice (at a reasonable price, no more then 17$) So please recommend away, I must prove my boyfriend wrong (:
Things my boyfriend likes:
-Cars
-Video games, Examples= Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, Mafia
-Movies, Examples= Godfather, Wanted, Battle of La, basically movies with action, and Hangover, Due Date
-he loves the Military
- also loves hiking
I dont know what else would be useful really, but if you think of anything else that would be useful to know, let me know ! (thank you katie for telling me to put up his intrests lol )

Ooh, a tough one, is he? I try to get my teenage brother to read, so I know how hard it is. :)
I would totally recommend Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon to any guy. It has excitement, guys ogling girls, computer game references, zombies...I think my reluctant brother liked it even more than I did.
The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan had even my 27 year-old brother staying up late. It is a little simpler but well-written with excellent characters.
I have yet to meet a guy who can resist Douglas Adam's Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In a similar genre, Terry Pratchett's Discworld series is loved by all 4 of my brothers.
Then there are the classics. Dune, The Bourne Identity, Patriot Games, anything by Alistair Maclean or Clive Cussler.
For sci-fi with the greatest characters you will ever meet, try Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga. Miles Vorkosigan is completely insane in an entirely entertaining fashion.
I wish you the best of luck as a fellow struggler against stubborn and illiterate boys. :D
Hmmm... Well, I'll admit I haven't read many books from a guy's POV that jump out at me at the moment. OH WAIT! How about Holly Black's Curse Worker series? That's from a guy's POV, and I know both guys and girls have enjoyed it (: I think it's great!
If I think of any more, I'll let you know.
Good luck! I hope you find something he enjoys. :D

Lieder- Ah Infinity sounds great! I am gonna buy that one soon and read it myself and see if he would enjoy it, thankyou thats a great recommendation!!
Susan- Curse Worker idk if he would be into as much because of the magic stuff but Im gonna read that one soon and see how he like it, it sounds good so we'll see (:
Thanks guy!! (:
Thanks guys*
These recommendations aren't similar to The Hunger Games, but how about Youth in Revolt by CD Payne or The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky?
My boyfriend claims not to be very picky when it comes to reading my books, but we'll see. So far I've made him read Perks and he loved it so much that it made it to his favorites list.
Of course, you can always choose to go the Chuck Palahniuk route. Just about every guy I know loves his work, especially Fight Club.
Sorry if I'm not much help, I'm more of a chicklit reader. I hope you find something he enjoys! Good luck!
They don't have to be like The Hunger Games, that was just an example (:
Thank you for the recommendations I will look into those!(:
and no any help is good! Im DEFF more of a chicklit reader also that's why I posted on here for recommendations lol (:
I know my brother loves anything by Rick Riordan. But he's kind of a nerd. It would help if we knew the stuff he likes. Is it cars, video games, hunting, etc.

I thought of two more. Cat and Mouse by James Patterson and Driver's Ed by Caroline B. Cooney
So none of these are hunger games related, but instead books that I loved and think a guy would too:
Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk (guy POV)
Choke by Chuck Palahniuk (guy POV)
Tuesdays with Morrie by Albom (guy POV)
really any Palahniuk book though, he is amazing. [: Hope this helps!
AH thank you guys for the recommendations! I will look into those!
AH Katie you have an EXCELLENT point I will edit this post and add some of his things he likes to do (: I cant believe I didnt add them in when I posted this haha
Have any of you read The Maze Runner? I think he might like that..but I personally havnt read it so idk ):
I have 3 suggestions, this are MY boyfriends favorites ^^
*Take Me There by Carolee Dean
-its a deep book, not that much action but its by a guys point of view and it is just amazing. His fav and mine :)
*Clockwork Angel
- Love it, has enough action and its narrated in 3rd person. Maybe even the Mortal Instruments Series?
*Dash and Lily's Book of Dares
I Laughed 'till I cried! My BF did not cried bu he surely laughed.
Hope it helps! If I find any more suggestions I'll let you know :)
Oh! and I second Let's Evaluate with Choker - Completely Creepy!!! o.O
Haley, our guys sound pretty similar! My husband's not a big reader either. He really enjoyed the book The Road. But...considering his interests, if your boyfriend can take a little bit of love, maybe he should read The Wanderer when I give you the ARC. My husband hasn't finished it yet but he said he was really enjoying it.
Mortal Instruments I was actually thinking of also!! Good idea!(:
Thanks guys I will look up those ones also!! (:
Shawn that's a great idea actually..Ill have to check with him on reading your book after I read it, idk about the romance with him but maybe !(:
I'm thinking Mortal Instruments as well, its in 3rd person so I think it would be good. I definitely think he should try The Hunger Games, there's loads of action in that lots of blood and shooting lol.
Maybe even I Am Number Four?? I heard that's pretty good and quite guy orientated.
-Jess
THOSE IN PERIL by Wilbur Smith. My brother does not read, but he loved this. Action, military, kidnapping, terrorists & lust.
marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Does he like world of warcraft game?Because it has lots of books. The first one is http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/279502.Cycle_of_Hatred
I am number four is a great book too as Book Passion said.
Another book that I recommend is http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6186357-the-maze-runner
The only book that my boyfriend has read is one about Zidane (the football player from France) >.<
This might be cheating...but they have an Assassin's Creed book series. ;) haha, something to consider!
Jess-Ya I think hunger games would be good, but it's from a girls POV so he thinks he wont like it -_- he's just being difficult..like always ahha (;
Marybelle-OOOOOooo Ill have to check that one out thanks!!! (:
Ana-He doesnt play warcraft so I think that ones a no, but Have you read the Maze Runner? I was looking at that one but I personally havnt read it so idk
hahah Shawn your so funny, he probably wouldnt notice it's the same so I could probably get away with that :p
try Gantz by Hiroya Oku (Graphic Novel/Manga/Anime) it has my husband reading it non-stop. http://bit.ly/nyVVSd
Black by Ted Dekker (not too YA but Fatasy Fiction) http://bit.ly/nTsCQx
Hope this works =)

I think he would Like Enclave by Ann Aguirre.
I absolutely can not believe I didn't think of this before but Dean Kootz. My ex boyfriend absolutely loved him. Even got me hooked. The first book of his I read was The Darkest evening of the year. me and my ex are animal lovers so Yeah I don't think that book would be for your boyfriend but i'm sure any other would be awesome. I don't think you should shove a YA at your boyfriend. My ex was a mamma's boy and even he wasn't big on em.

If he's a sci-fi kind of guy, why don't you try like a Star Wars series (if he's into that thing). I know my boyfriend reads those like crazy. My boyfriend is also into Harry Potter.
He's not into star wars, or any of that scfi stuff, or magic stuff ): but that's a good recommendation! Thank you (:
I don't know if someone already suggested this but how about Incarceron by Catherine Fisher? I really liked it and so did my brother.
Good luck!
Hahaha..This is an unsaid challenge between my boyfriend and I.(that description sounds like mine and yours have a lot in common!:P) Hez always making faces at what i read..
So here is what i could come up with..
The Afghan by Frederick Forsyth (Mine din like it but this is my guess...):P
The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings Series by J.R.R Tolkein
The Godfather series by Mario Puzo (the books itself)
The Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy
The Bourne Identity Series by Robert Ludlum
