“My loyalty-and my heart-belong to another queen now”

The Iron Knight by: Julie Kagawa
Last in series
Published: Harlequin
Pages: 304
Rating: 5/5 Stars

Description
Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice

Review:
The Iron Knight, was everything I could have imagined and more. Julie Kagawa has written such a beautiful series, which has come to be my favorite series of all…The Iron Fey series. No one can deny how amazing this series is, and now it is all over. Although I am sad it is over (more like depressed) Julie Kagawa has written the best final book anyone could even imagine. The romance is more beautiful then ever, the action is better, all our questions are answered.

Now I was planning on writing you a big review on how amazing this book was and how happy I am that Julie really gave this series the ‘firework’ ending I was hoping for, this book will captivate you from beginning to end, and when it’s over all you’ll want to do is pick it up and read it again, so you don’t have to face reality that it’s all over…but I’m not going to really write you guys a review on this one, it is one of those books that is so good, that no matter what I type in this review, everything I say will fall short of giving this book the justice it deserves. So with that said The Iron Knight, was the perfect ending, to the perfect series, and if you havnt picked it up please do when it comes out..it will not disappoint…

Now for fun since I’m not writing a review I figured I would give you some quotes I highlighted:

“My loyalty-and my heart-belong to another queen now”

“Seeing Meghan still made my heart beat crazily, made me long to pull her close and let that light consume me. If it burned until there was nothing left, would that be such a terribly fate?”

“No! Bad wraith! No thouchie!”

“Don’t you ever knock?” I asked Puck without turning around. He snorted. “Hi, I’m Robin Goodfellow, have we met?”

“Ash, the demon of the Unseelie Court, would finally perish alone, mourning the lives of those he’d destroyed, a fitting end I though”

“Aren’t you already centuries old?” Ash lowered his head, drawing us even closer. “I went to the end of the world for you, and all you have to say is how well I’ve aged?”

UGH there are SO many other good REALLY romantic quotes that I would LOVE to add here..but they give WAY too much away ):

Goodbye Puck, Meghan, Ash and Grim…you will be missed ):

Haley, you make me want to stop time, buy all of these books that you have been raving about, and get myself caught up! I'm still waiting on Perfect Chemistry and Leaving Paradise....the suspense is killing me! And, though I don't know what this series is about (I don't want to read the last book review not knowing what the first is about. ;) ) I already trust that they MUST be as good as you say!

I only read the first paragraph of your review because I haven't read the book yet and I don't want to know anything ;) I'm so glad you loved it!

You do know there will be more Iron Fey though right???
From Julie Kagawa's Live Chat/Blog
"Coming in 2012, there will be a SECOND IRON FEY TRILOGY. This is for all the Iron Fey fans out there, whom I'm forever grateful for. This series, set several years after the events of the first, will star an older Ethan Chase, Meghan's brother. Yep, Ethan is getting his own adventure, so be sure to be on the lookout for that. :D "
