If you could describe yourself in three words, what words would you use?
Enduring, faithful, MOM!
Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I started writing as a child, poetry, and was bitten by the “ writing bug.” In college, I took a class and fell in love even more. Life happens and I stopped writing for a number of years. When JK Rowling was writing her HP Series, I got upset that she was killing off all my favorite characters so I wrote a HP book the way I wanted HP to end. LOL! 600 pages later, my desire to write was in full swing again.
If you could have any career in the world besides being a writer what would you choose to do? Why?
I already have it. MOM! Nothing is easier, harder, more thrilling and more aggravating. It is the best job in the world. Also, I would have liked to have been an interior decorating nurse!!
Maggie is based on two girls that I grew up with. It was a way for me to “deal” with what happened to them.
Did anyone inspire you while writing Unlovable?
JK Rowling, of course. And Stephanie Meyer. But the biggest influence would have to be Victor Hugo(Les Miserable, Hunchback of Notre Dame) I want to write like that some day!
How did you go about picking the names for your characters in your book Unlovable?
That was the hardest part! I tried to find names that had “Meanings” that supported the characters. In the end, I ended up choosing names I liked, except Booker. I made his name up. The bad guys are all named after people I don’t like in real life!! And the last name Dreser was the real name of the man who worked for Bayer(as in the aspirin company) He actually invented/discovered heroin. Of course, they didn’t realize exactly what they had done at the time!
Which of your characters are the most and least like you ? Why?
I’m not like any of them really. I tried to put a character trait of mine in each person so I could relate to them more. In Maggie it would be her person strength, in Booker it is his humor, in Seth it would be his commitment to family and poor Cole got my clumsiness… Sorry Cole;} As for Least like…Maggie’s mom.. Thankfully.
What was the hardest part of writing your book Unlovable?
The scene in the hospital near the end… and the one after with Maggie at the trailer... tough.
Do you have any recent news to share with us?
I am working hard on book two! I also wanted to thank Haley, and other book bloggers like her, who spend a LOT of time running their blogs and “Getting the word out” about us new struggling artist! You are AWESOME! If it weren’t for you, we would not survive! Thanks;

Great questions and great answers! I find the part about re-writing HP so interesting! And it seems to me that most authors go about picking names about the same way. Very interesting!
And I agree, without you Haley and others like you we wouldn't be getting our names and books out there! Thank you for your unyielding enthusiasm! :)
awesome interview! The cover of her book is sooo eerie!
Don't be a stranger; stop by my blog and say hi!
Looking forward to hearing back from you,

Great interview Haley. This book is on my TBR list. That's funny about the names of people she doesn't like! :-)
