The following information is from THIS article.

With "Harry Potter" finished, "The Twilight Saga" coming to a close and "The Hunger Games" getting steady buzz, DreamWorks is looking to launch its own fantasy franchise, as the studio has acquired feature film rights to all five books in Karen Marie Moning's bestselling "Darkfever" series.
Project was previously set up at 20th Century Fox under its New Regency banner.
Series follows MacKayla Lane, an ordinary young woman from Georgia who travels to Ireland to track down her sister's killer. While overseas, she discovers an extraordinary world filled with ancient secrets and tough-to-kill creatures. Protag, who has special abilities, is tasked with finding the Sinsar Dubh, a powerful yet elusive book that can help her save both the fantasy realm and the mortal world.
No exec has been assigned to oversee the project yet, though it is being envisioned as a potential live-action fantasy franchise.
The fifth and final installment of the adult-themed series, "Shadowfever," was released last December.
DreamWorks has a long-term deal with Disney to market and release its live-action pics

I personally have not read The Fever Series yet, but I have heard wonderful wonderful things about it. Now that it's going to be made into a movie, I feel I deff need to read it soon!
Have you read the Fever series? What did you think of it? Are you excited for the movie?(:

what terrifies me the most is the mention of Disney. I don't want the movie. This movie needs to be rated R and knowing them they will find a way to rate it pg 13 but that will take away from the story b/c it is sort of centered on sex. like the sex by death fae for example. I mean come on. I don't want them to screw up my favorite series. Oh, and I want all unknown actors!

but isn't dreamworks like kids movies or something? i'm confused.

Hi there! Really nice blog you have here. I, too, haven't read the Fever Series. As a matter of fact, this is the first place I've heard about the series. The premise seems interesting and will definitely pick up the series since it will become a movie soon. Thanks for the recommendation! By the way, I'm a new follower! And if you have a spare time, come check out my blog: http://rockeemusikreads.blogspot.com/

I haven't actually read the books but I might considering there's a movie coming out! It's always cool to read the books and watch the movies :)

If there is a movie coming, I am definitely going to read it...i have found that books that are adapted to movies are always better on paper than on the screen!

OMG I can’t express my excitement enough! With that excitement I am also very apprehensive about this. I’ve read a LOT of urban fantasy books to include the YA and popular ones. They can’t compare to the fever series! It’s the best urban fantasy series I’ve read to date. Making this anything other than rated R would ruin it. They just need to stick with the books or even better have HBO/showtime/starz do a show. These books are even better than the sookie books.

Barrons! we get to see you work your magic on screen! ooolala lol NO book passion he's mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
