YA-AHOLIC BOOK BLOG: Character Interview + Giveaway (The Wanderer)

Hey everyone! Today I have a special treat of an interview with Landon Bradley ! Landon recently let Shawn Maravel write his story in 'The Wanderer'

HALEY: Hello Landon, Thanks for taking the time to sit down with me today!

Your story was just released on October 4th, that must be exciting!

Were you nervous at all to have your story out in the open ?

LANDON: *shutters* Definitely.

I'm not a very open guy by nature.

I didn't want people to pity me because of sharing my story.

I just know that there are a lot of people out there like me who would benefit by reading it.

HALEY: Ya, it must be hard to have it out in the open like that, your story is

great though so I'm glad you let Shawn release it.

In your story you meet a girl named Max, she seemed to me very different than most girls. what did you think about her when you first met her?

LANDON: Max...wow, there's a lot to say about her.

But I would DEFINITELY start out by saying that she is one of a kind.

As far as our first encounter goes, I'm pretty sure I made a fool of myself.

She kind of surprised me from the very start.

HALEY: Did you ever think when you first met her you guys would've ended up where you are now?

LANDON: When I first met Max I thought about a lot of things...

But where we are now wasn't one of them.

I didn't see myself here, the last thing I could have expected was for us to be where we are together.

HALEY: Well I'm glad everything turned out the way they did for you guys.

You use to be in the military, how was that experience ? I know you went threw some really tough times,

and lost someone that was really important to you..would you still do it again?

LANDON: The Army gave me structure that I wouldn't have had otherwise and I had a lot of great memories.

As you said, I lost my best friend during my first deployment.

I've never really had anyone stick around for too long in my life.

I can't say that I'm one for commitment either, so as much as I miss Brown I'm happy to have known him.

I would have enlisted either way, it made me the man I am today.

HALEY: Brown sounds like a great guy, I'm sure he'd be proud of where you are now. Along with being in the military you rode across the country,

Did you come across a favorite place, how did the small wyoming town your living in now compared to everywhere else?

LANDON: Brown was like a big brother to me, so I think it would have pleased him to know that I've changed my ways a bit.

He and I were a lot alike, and frankly I think that worried him.

There was something about every town I've been in that I enjoyed but mostly it was the people.

You'll be surprised what you learn about yourself by getting to know others.

As for Wyoming it's a lot like my other stops. I try to stay in the outskirts towns.

I meet more interesting people when I keep out of the cities.

Wyoming is a big biker town though and with Max to work on mine...there really is no way to compare it to the others.

HALEY: So with that I can take the small Wyoming town is your favorite place, it's good to hear you settled somewhere!

Now that your story is out there can you give us some insight on what you have been up to since your story?

LANDON: I'm not so sure that it's the place or the people but I no longer feel the need to figure it out.

Since the release of my story I've been following the same path I always have, I just realized that I was never meant to know where it leads.

And I'm happier in not knowing.

I have a lot to be grateful for and I'm taking advantage of it all.

HALEY: Does the open road still call to you ? Do you think you will ever just hop on your bike and leave again?

LANDON: The appeal of the road is always there.

It's hard for me to stay settled especially in the hard times, leaving is a lot easier than staying.

The real question is whether or not I fond reason enough to stay.

And for that, I suggest reading the book to find out. ;)

After getting out of the Army, Landon Bradley packs up his motorcycle and heads North West in hopes of closing up old battle wounds and maybe even settling down. Not accustomed to staying in one spot for too long, he's not certain that he'll ever find a place that he can truly call home.
