Hey bookies! Today continues my 'Best of 2011' posts! If you didn't check out my yesterdays posts of 'Best of 2011' where I showed my favorite Vampire, Werewolves, and Fairies (check it out here) These posts are basically gonna be going on for the next week or so and each day will have different themes, for each theme I will show my top 2 of 2011! Yesterday I did three themes all going around what I believe are the top paranormal creatures in fiction. Today though I am just doing one...and this theme is the 'Leave the Light On' edition! These are two books that gave me the chills and creeps!

Leave the Light ON edition!!

These two books were my top of 2011 when it comes to being a scary read/creepy/etc! These two though were picked for totally different reasons!

Envy by Gregg Olsen: Envy wasn't really a scary read...but it had such a creepy feel to it. While reading it I kept getting the chills like someone was watching me or something. The whole town of Port Gamble gives me the creeps now..after reading this story it just seems like one of those towns that comes of as a cute little historic town ..but really it has the darkest secrets underneath and everyone seems to have an eerie feel to them. This story I feel gave me a more realistic scare...a scare that the most unexpected people can have such dark secrets. And even though this book gives me the creeps beyond belief..I am deff going to be reading book 2 ! Hoping book two (Betrayal) will give me twice the chills!

The Deepest Cut by J.A. Templation: The Deepest Cut was a scary read, down right scary. I for one although I find the movies good and frightful, hate demon/ghost like things...it scares the hell outta me. Laria is the scariest one yet too, she is creepy and scary and just straight vicious..she terrorizes Riley and her whole family. At one point in the book she even throws Riley around her room as if she is a rag doll..this book was just scary, but oh so good!

Final Thought! (:

These two books were for sure, hands down the top 2 books when it comes to leaving the light on, not only were these books frightful they are also amazing, and I would recommend them to anyone. Gregg and J.A. are both superb writers, these books go out of the norm for YA books, and I applaud them both for doing such a fantastic job!

What were your top leave the light on books of 2011?!(:

I am thrilled you have picked Envy as I have got it for Christmas and I do love a creepy book, I actually first found out about the book on your blog, so thanks for pointing out lots of cool books to me in 2011! Keep up the good work!

Ah yay!!! Caroline I hope you enjoy it! It is VERY different then most YA, Gregg is normally an adult true crime writer so his writing is a little different, but totally amazing(:!

I'm telling you, Haley.. you need to read Dark Inside. But wait unto 2012, because it'll top next years list. lol. I haven't read these two, though.

Haha what the heck... that should be "wait UNTIL 2012"
