There are a lot of great arguments out there about the awesomeness of unicorns and how, when comparing them to zombies, they win pretty much every battle.

Beauty? Unicorn
Strength? Unicorn
Who would you rather come across? Unicorn
Which horde would come out triumphant? Unicorn (all those zombies would have their heads trampled before they even knew what happened)
Scariest books and/or movies? Zombies (but is that a good thing or something to be proud of?)

Let me ask you this: in all the zombie books you've ever read or all the zombie movies you've ever seen, what did you hope for? Did you want the hero to escape? To find a cure and save all those poor zombie virus infected people?

Or did you actually cheer on the zombies?

If you are like most people, you probably wanted the hero to find the cure, to save the world.

Well, let me tell you something. The ultimate cure to the most horrific, hopelessness-inducing zombie virus is a unicorn's horn. From monsters.monstrous.com:

"Throughout the stories of the unicorn, its horn, the alicorn, is said to have great medicinal powers. In Ctesias’ writings, the dust filed from the horn was supposed to protect against deadly diseases if mixed into a potion. Or, if you drank from the horn, you would be protected against any poison."

Most sources even say the horn only has to touch the infected area to cure it.

So in a roundabout way, you were cheering on the unicorn. Think about that, zombie lovers. If you come face-to-face with a zombie some day, you're going to be hoping for a unicorn. 1. It could kill the zombie for you with its awesome strength and super speed or 2. If the zombie is a loved one, it could cure it for you. All good things. You won't be saying, "Oh zombie, you're so awesome. Let me give you a hug or take your picture."

No. You will be running and screaming for a unicorn.

After this wonderful, well-written and TRUE blog post about unicorns, how could I not add Elemental to my wishlist?

Honestly, it sounds like an interesting book and I already came across some very positive reviews on goodreads.

And yay for unicorn-love!
