How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?
Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.
When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.
From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.

“You’ll kiss a lizard, but not me,” Matt whispered. “There’s something seriously wrong with you.” ...“He’s cuter than you.”
Until Next Time by Amy Lignor was an amazingly new twist in the Angel novel world! I swear every time I think I have read it all, in comes a book that is completely different from anything else I have read! Until Next Time was a beautifully written story of love, lost, and overcoming fear.
Matt and Emily were created for each other, they were also created to someday go down to earth and find out as much as they can about the way the world is now. Matt and Emily have been waiting for the day they would be sent down from heaven for what seems like forever, but when that day finally comes, they are both in for a big shock. Matt and Emily are thrown into the ‘shells’ of two very broken people. Matt is having some troubles, but ultimately is still being the warrior he was brought up to be..Emily on the other hand is scared, after seeing earth and meeting some horrible people she finds herself asking,
what happens when an angel loses her faith….
I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this one, right in the beginning I was sucked into the captivating world that Amy created. Sadly once I got about 60% threw things started getting confusing, once I finished Until Next Time I understood everything, all the pieces fell in to place and everything made sense. But it being confusing while I was reading it, was still, well frustrating.
The part of Until Next Time I found confusing was during some of the dialogue, a lot of time when the characters were talking I didn’t really understand what was going on with their convo…basically the conversation to me wasn’t making any sense. Now this may be because it’s kind of a historical fiction, or maybe I just wasn’t paying close enough attention. Some parts being confusing aside, this was still a really great story, but I must say I am hoping book two won’t be as confusing.
The rest of the novel I loved! And I would still recommend this novel to people who love angel stories or are looking for something different. My favorite part of Until Next Time was the characters, I adored all of them. The best characters in my opinion though would have to be Matt and Emily, in the beginning they were so playful yet so in love. The scenes that Amy writes of them two together especially in the beginning and the end were incredibly beautiful and literally took my breath away.
Another thing I really loved about Until Next Time was how it was written in 3rd person, now I for one normally DO NOT like third person, but with Until Next Time I absolutely loved it! Most books in 3rd person that I read I feel the authors never give the readers enough insight on the characters. When I finish a novel I want to KNOW the characters as if they were an actual friend or neighbor of mine, but with a lot of third person books I will end a book feeling like I barely knew any of them. Amy is a remarkable writer, I was able to understand each character in the novel, not just the main character Emily, but all of the characters. I got to know the other characters fears, insecurities, and just who each of them were as a person. I ended this novel feeling like I knew all of the characters inside and out.
Overall I would recommend this novel to anyone who is looking for an amazing angel story with a twist. I do advise though that if things start to get confusing, stick with the story. In the end everything will be cleared up and you will be more than happy you finished it! I believe The Angel Chronicles is going to end up on epic series, and I cannot wait to read book 2!

This book sounds pretty interesting! I haven't read a lot of angel fiction, but I'm starting to remedy that this year :)
Im on the blog tour for this book too, but I have not read it yet. I have been on such an angel kick lately so Im excited to pick this one up now that you say its a different take on the angel tale.
I have also been noticing a lot of confusing dialogue lately in books. Sometimes I won't know who said what, or what exactly is going on and it frustrates me- so I know what you mean. Thanks for the great review :)
Thank you SO much for having the angel/warrior team on your site - and thank you SO much for the praise and the understanding and the all out honor you've given me about my writing. I try to be different and don't ever want to be classified as all the rest and you have truly made me feel like I was successful :) And Book II, I promise, will bring you a twist that you could never imagine! Thank you!!
Haley, I really enjoyed the quotes you pulled from the book - great choices, by the way.
Thanks for saying how much you enjoyed the characters in "The Angel Chronicles." I'm glad you really felt you got to know them over the course of the story. And stay tuned - there's more to come from Matt, Emily and the gang :)
