Book 1 in the Cold Awakening series

The Download was supposed to change the world. It was supposed to mean the end of aging the end of death, the birth of a new humanity. But it wasn't supposed to happen to someone like Lia Kahn.

And it wasn't supposed to ruin her life.

Lia knows she should be grateful she didn't die in the accident. The Download saved her--but it also changed her, forever. She can deal with being a freak. She can deal with the fear in her parents' eyes and the way her boyfriend flinches at her touch. But she can't deal with what she knows, deep down, every time she forces herself to look in the mirror: She's not the same person she used to be.

Maybe she's not even a person at all.

I have had this book for EVER!! It has been sitting on my shelf far too long, I love the sound of this book, and hope I can read it soon! I have heard awesome things about it! I really enjoyed Uglies by Scott Westerfeld and I have heard fans of his series will love this, which makes me even more excited (: Have you read Skinned? Should I move it up my TBR?!

Wow!I was just thinking about this book! I read it a long time ago, back when you had to wait for the next book to come out. I don't remember the details, but I do remember enjoying it. Not sure why i never finished the trilogy (maybe I had too many books on my list to read- as I do now)
