Kiora is rapidly learning that evil and lies come in shades of black and white and swirling greys, but nothing could have prepared her for the shock of leaving Meros. Kiora and her protector Emane step through the pass into a world they never knew existed but were always meant to save, only to find it far worse than they could have ever imagined. Good has been forced into hiding for its own survival, while the rest of the land bows to the Shadow, a force that pushes any remaining thoughts of Dralazar from Kiora’s mind. This land is full of new creatures, each more dangerous than the last. Her visions have taken on a deadly twist, and magic, or what comes of it, was never so real. And then there is Alcander: a Tavean, their guide, and an entirely different kind of trouble.

How is it possible?! I seriously loved Wings of Arian the first book in the Solus series, but book two Wings of Tavea... I dare say I enjoyed even more so than Wings of Arian! I am always very wary of picking up sequels to books I loved, but thank goodness Wings of Tavea surpassed my expectations and completely took me by surprise!

If you have not yet read Wings of Arian....WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! This is a series that is not to be missed by any fantasy/adventure lover! Devri has yet again proved herself to be an amazing writer in Wings of Tavea. and while I am a bit sad the third and final book is coming out I am at the same time excited because I can't wait to see what Devri comes out with outside of the Solus Trilogy. I will be for sure picking it up no matter what it is she comes out with next!

Going to briefly go over what I didn't like in Wings of Tavea and that was sadly Emane and Kiora, I enjoyed them so much more in Wings of Arian. In Wings of Tavea though I felt they were a bit more whiny than usual. I understand they have the world on their shoulders and everything, so I am sure that causes them to stress or have nervous break downs like Kiora did about 10 times in Wings of Tavea, but it still did get on my nerves. I still love them, oh yes I do, but they did frustrate me.

Moving on to what I LOVED and that was easily hands down Drustan and Alcander. First off Drustan is just my favorite character now, I love his personality, and I love that he is a shifter. I mean...come on I can not get over still how awesome that would be to be able to transform into a freakin DRAGON whenever you wanted, or whatever you feel like transforming into. Drustan is the friend that keeps everything together I feel, and without him Emane and Kiora would surely have died along time ago!

Now onto our newly added beautiful character Alcander! I feel bad saying this...really I do especially since in my Wings of Arian review I talked about how much I loved Emane and Kiora...well now I am SO in love with the idea of Alcander and Kiora...when it comes down to it I find Alcander was much more interesting than Emane AND I do believe he is the better match for Kiora! I guess we shall see how this all plays out though. (fingers crossed for Alcander!!!!)

Overall this was an amazing sequel to what is so far an amazing series. What I really love about the Solus trilogy is while the romance does play a big part in the story, I always feel at the end of the book the main focus was on good conquering evil, and THAT is what is important. Wings of Tavea is an adventure fantasy that I believe will leave it's readers on the edge of their seat and then dying for book three once they finally reach the end!

Glad you enjoyed it, Haley! I also enjoyed in the first book that the romance didn't strictly take over! Thanks for being on the tour! :)
