Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
Title: The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson
Genre: YA, Contemporary
Publisher: Viking Juvenile
Release Date: January 7th 2014

For the past five years, Hayley Kincaid and her father, Andy, have been on the road, never staying long in one place as he struggles to escape the demons that have tortured him since his return from Iraq. Now they are back in the town where he grew up so Hayley can attend school. Perhaps, for the first time, Hayley can have a normal life, put aside her own painful memories, even have a relationship with Finn, the hot guy who obviously likes her but is hiding secrets of his own.
Will being back home help Andy’s PTSD, or will his terrible memories drag him to the edge of hell, and drugs push him over? The Impossible Knife of Memory is Laurie Halse Anderson at her finest: compelling, surprising, and impossible to put down.
Why am I waiting on this?
I have really liked the few books I have read by Laurie Halse Anderson, and this sounds like a very emotional, very good read! Also can I just say how much I am loving the cover?? So beautiful!

She has *almost* the same name as you... RIGHT, irrelevant but still LOL.

Love the cover...although it does make my feet cold ;}
I am very curious after reading that teaser synopsis, wonderful pick :)
Great pick, this one sounds amazing. I've heard great things about Laurie Hulse Anderson but I haven't read any of her books yet. Maybe this one will be my first.

I haven't heard of this author or book before now but it sounds like something I'd quite like! definitely popping this on my tbr pile, Thanks for sharing Haley :)
This author and book is new to me, but it sounds really good. I'm adding it to my list. I read one by Courtney Cole, If You Leave, that dealt with a soldier with PTSD and it was really good.
Oh wow this is the first time that I've actually seen this book, and I have to agree this looks like a great emotional read. I've only read one book by Anderson before, but I'm thinking I will certainly have to give this book a try come next year. Brilliant pick Haley!
