Girl behind the blog

Welcome! My name is Haley, I'm a 25 year old book-aholic. I'm a book reviewer for the RiverTalk Newspaper. I love reading YA, NA, and adult paranormal mostly, but I do go into other genres on occasion. If you want to talk more one on one about books, please don't hesitate to contact me on facebook or twitter, I love making new bookish friends!

Hey book lovers, welcome to my about me section! *throws confetti*

I don't think of myself as someone all that interesting, my name is Haley, I am 25 years old, I live on an island, I was born on March 18th in the morning, which makes me a pisces on aries cusp and my moon in virgo. I read way too much into horoscopes. I have awesome parents, a pretty cool boyfriend and an adorable godson named Kingston. Things I adore besides reading would include spending hours and hours playing video games specifically any bioware games (Dragon Age series & Mass Effect series). I also spend a fair amount of time watching basketball and american football, making cheesy puns, and spending hours pinning stuff on pinterest I'll probably never do.  I could make this about me a novel long, but at the end of the day I'm just a girl with her nose in a book, escaping to different world and universes, and trying to live a happy life like everybody else. 💖

YA-Aholic I originally started because I needed an outlet for my love and thoughts of books since I had no friends that read. When I started YA-Aholic I had no idea it would become what it has, I didn't know what arcs were, I didn't know authors would be asking me to review their books, I didn't know I'd have contacts with publishers, or that it would lead to me having my own weekly column in a published newspaper. All I knew was that I loved reading, and that I wanted to pour my energy into this little corner of the internet I have claimed as mine. Although I did not know YA-Aholic would come this far, I am so glad it did, I have met some amazing people because of this blog, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

The name for YA-Aholic came from my love of reading YA novels, even though YA-Aholic is no longer just for YA books, YA books still stays the main focus.
